FOSTER CARE YOUTH PROJECT

You can make a difference.

As a Community We Can Do Better Than This

Even the smallest contribution can change lives.

One less cup of coffee for you can mean a whole world to these children.

Aging Out of Foster care

A recent national report from the Annie E. Casey Foundation found that Michigan is behind the rest of the country in helping young people move out of the foster care system and onto a successful adult life. In West Virginia, 70 percent of youth transitioning out of foster care got education financial assistance. The national average was 23 percent. Here in Michigan? It was just one percent.

We are making some promises to these children when we place them into foster care. We are telling them that they are getting the chance to create a better life for themselves. They are promised a safe home where they can have a family that can be called their own. For many children, these promises are just empty words that have no meaning. As the statistics show, many foster youth are aging out of the system and have nowhere to turn.

Lesson in Progress

Why Alternate Funding:

As of the development of this website; housing for long term development is not available for the aged-out youth with younger siblings still within the foster care system towards Family Reunification. (currently they aged out individually when they reach the aged of 18 many never reconnect with other siblings)

Our Main Goals is to demonstrate the power of networking of community resources and a alternate use of funding to a positive outcome for these young people

The project was discontinued after all youth had achieved their personal goals. The project was funded out of pocket and we were unable to continue for lack of funding. Over the last fifteen years  Your Solutions; Has  been advocating  for family reunification as a meaningful alternative to the aging out process the process with systemic methodology for reconnecting to other sibling within the system. We also understand to successfully accomplish the reunification of family members their need to be a training facility to develop these young people for that end objective.
